Medical care for foreign patients

To foreign patients with Japanese public health insurance card

Our Center performs medical examination for foreign patients, but generally we do not provide support for an interpretation and a translation from (to) a foreign language.

If a foreign patient has a Japanese public health insurance card and can speak Japanese on the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test N1 or N2 level, the patient will be fit for regular medical care.

In case of the foreign patient can’t speak Japanese, in order to provide smooth, secure and safe medical treatment, we can offer an interpreter and translation service and other related services through “Medical Tourism Japan Co., Ltd.”. Medical Tourism Japan Co., Ltd. is the representative coordinator company affiliated with our Center regarding related services such as coordination of foreign patient acceptance. Please notify if you need it.

* Services provided by Medical Tourism Japan Co., Ltd. will be charged by Medical Tourism Japan Co., Ltd. and those costs should be bear by the patient who used the services.

To foreign patients who DO NOT have a Japanese public health insurance card

Our Center performs medical examination for foreign patients, but generally we do not provide support for an interpreter and translation from (to) a foreign language.

If a foreign patient who does not have a Japanese public health insurance card, wishes to seek medical care, in order to provide a smooth, secure and safe service, our Center will introduce the representative coordinator company “Medical Tourism Japan Co., Ltd.” providing the service of a survey for acceptance, to execute payment for treatments, to provide an interpreter, translational services and other related services.

An interpreter is unnecessary if the applicant who wishes to seek medical care can conduct conversation on the level of equivalent to the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, N1 or N2.

If a foreign patient is unable to communicate in Japanese, the patient can contact “Medical Tourism Japan Co., Ltd.” affiliated with our Center. Please notify if you need it.

About visas for foreign patients

Because the patient may need to stay in Japan for a long period, or may need to visit our Center several times, our Center require obtaining of Single visa that permits to stay in Japan for more than 60 days or Multiple visa.

At our Center, support for the preparation of application documents for medical stay visas is made through “Medical Tourism Japan Co., Ltd.”, the representative coordinator company concerning related services such as coordination of foreign patients’ acceptance.

Concerning treatment cost for foreign patients who do not have Japanese public health insurance card

At our Center, we calculate medical expenses at 30 yen per 1 insurance medical fee point announced by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. (Consumption tax will be charged additionally for medical examination expenses.) Also by depending on the patient, hospital room charge, document fee and other costs will be incurred.
